Vrikshasana (Tree Pose): Improves our concentration

We are in a situation, where we need to practice the art of keeping our locus of our focus on the areas that matters to us. If we are able to focus, we have everything with us. If we cannot keep our focus, we do not have anything with us in this world. So is the importance of our ability to "Focus". Concentration will help improve our ability to focus. Vrikshasana will be of help to us to attain this state.


Vriksha means a tree. In this posture we stand still like a tree.

Benefits:

1. It improves our concentration, sense of balance and thus our focus.
2. This asana strengthens leg muscles, groins and inner thigh muscles
3. It also strengthens calf muscles, ankles and spine. It is good for flat foot.


Limitations:

Those suffering from heel pain, knee pain and sciatica problems should restrain themselves from this asana.
